You might have heard of a site called "blackle" recently, making some bold claims about how we could all save power by using their version of the google homepage which has a black background instead of googles white background. A Macquarie University (Sydney) Graduate has done some testing, and actually revealed that on 22" LCD monitors and below (which make up 75% of the current market), the "blackle" site actually uses more power than the regular google home page.
